We are looking for a technical employee to operate our test benches, who will support us in our daily experimental work and ensure that measurements are carried out accurately, reproducibly, and reliably. Your tasks will include:
- Construction, conversion, and laboratory and technical center test benches
- Preparation and execution of tests according to defined protocols
- Connection and operation of gas supply, power supply, and measurement technology
- Monitoring of systems during operation and detection of deviations
- Documentation of tests, operating conditions, and anomalies
- Support with maintenance, servicing, and further development of the test benches.
In this role, you will work closely with development and research and contribute directly to turning ideas into robust technical results.

- Completed degree in chemistry or a related subject (bachelor's degree sufficient) or completed technical training with a strong focus on processes, plants, or laboratory operations
- Strong hands-on mentality and enjoyment of building, operating, and understanding systems
- Basic understanding of industrial engineering and technical systems
- Willingness to familiarize yourself intensively with the structure and functioning of the test benches
- Careful, structured approach to working with equipment, experiments, and data
- Basic knowledge of gas supply, tubing, and safe system setup
- Experience with analytics, especially gas chromatography (GC) and/or mass spectrometry (MS)
- Interest in data processing, analysis of large data sets, and experimental documentation
- Routine in working on a PC, e.g., with measurement software, evaluation tools, or scripts for data analysis

The opportunity - Shape your influential role
In our workshop and in prototype construction, you will get state-of-the-art systems for CO₂ and exhaust gas conversion up and running. You will be responsible for the assembly, commissioning and maintenance of our pilot systems, making a decisive contribution to the implementation of our plasma technology. With your manual skills and technical expertise, you will work closely with development, design and production - and help turn innovative ideas into real systems.
Your tasks at a glance:
- Construction, maintenance and servicing of pilot and prototype plants in the field of CO₂ and exhaust gas conversion
- Mechanical and electrical assembly of components, modules and test systems according to technical drawings and parts lists
- Workshop work such as drilling, turning, milling and welding (machining & metalworking) as well as the production of components and devices
- Installation and commissioning of control cabinets, control systems and electrical assemblies
- Carrying out measurements (voltage, current, resistance, insulation test) as well as functional and safety tests
- Troubleshooting, repair and optimization of prototypes and system layouts
- Documentation of test results and close cooperation with design, development and production

- Completed training as a mechatronics technician, industrial mechanic or electronics technician for industrial engineering or comparable qualification (no automotive focus), with additional qualifications in automation technology or electrical engineering.
- Experience with PLC programming (preferably Siemens or Beckhoff), automation technology, prototype or special machine construction
- Good knowledge of electrical engineering, control technology and mechanics

The opportunity - Shape your influential role
IIn our state-of-the-art development environment, you will be responsible for the conception, design and optimization of test stands and pilot containers for our innovative plasma-based processes. You will shape the entire engineering process - from process planning to technical implementation - and ensure that our systems meet the high requirements for safety, efficiency and scalability. You will contribute your expertise in mechanical, thermal and fluid dynamic principles and work closely with interdisciplinary teams of experts. We are looking for a process engineer or chemical engineer who has a passion for innovative process technologies, technical acumen and a systematic way of working to design our plants and lay the foundation for the industrial success of our technology. Your tasks are:
- Planning, design and specification of new systems for CO₂ and exhaust gas valorization
- Creation, maintenance and checking of P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) as a central basis for basic and detailed engineering
- Processing of process and P&I flow diagrams and derivation of equipment lists and specifications
- Process engineering design and specification of equipment (e.g. pumps, heat exchangers, reactors)
- Implementation of basic and detail engineering as well as support for scale-up processes
- Implementation of installation and layout plans as well as support during construction, assembly and commissioning
- Use of common process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) for the design and calculation of processes
- Creation of technical documentation and interface coordination with purchasing, development, partners and suppliers
- Support with safety and risk analyses (e.g. HAZOP)
- Coordination and management of projects

- Completed studies in the field of process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering with a focus on process engineering or comparable qualification
- At least three years of experience in plant engineering, preferably in the field of chemistry, process engineering or energy processes
- Basic understanding of thermal, fluid dynamic and chemical processes
- Experience in basic and detailed engineering of process plants (pilot or industrial plants)
- Knowledge in the creation of P&ID schemes, P&IDs, calculation methods and process engineering tools
- Experience with process simulation (e.g. Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD, AutoCAD Plant, EPLAN, Aspen or comparable software) desirable
- Understanding of process automation and interfaces to electrical engineering an advantage
- Systematic and analytical way of working with an eye for detail
- Experience in project work with interdisciplinary teams and in dealing with external partners and suppliers, including strong communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant standards and directives (e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX, explosion protection) is an advantage

As a HiWi for glass development, you will play an essential role in supporting our materials development team in producing and processing glass frits and glass-ceramics. Your responsibilities will include: melting oxides and frits following our SOP after a thorough familiarization phase, preparing batches and filling crucibles for the melting process, as well as handling raw glass materials for further processing. Prepared catalyst will be studied in lab-scale setups where you can evaluate their performance in the CO2 conversion. Your job scope is the wet impregnation of supports with active metals and assisting in the catalytic testing of the obtained materials.
